Yes, the authors are Powers/Blaylock. It consists of a 4500 word unpublished pirate short story, a 10-15 page pirate poem by the duo, an intro and afterword, and additional material by Ashbless himself. Introduction by Tim Powers. Afterword by James P. Blaylock. Cover and interior illustrations by Gahan Wilson. The first in Subterranean Press' plans to bring to light some unduly neglected works by noted poet William Ashbless, this new chapbook contains 'Slouching Toward Mauritius,' a piratical short story written more than 25 years ago but never published, along with a lengthy pirate poem, 'Moon-Eye Agonistes.' Ashbless' notorious compatriots Tim Powers and James P. Blaylock have contributed an introduction and afterword, respectively, to put the pieces in their proper historical perspective. Printed in two colors throughout, this deluxe hardcover clothbound chapbook is fully illustrated with four two-color illustrations by Gahan Wilson. Lettered edition: Only 26 copies lavishly handbound, housed in a handcrafted oversize traycase, with an additional ON PIRATES POETRY PORTFOLIO by Tim Powers & James Blaylock as William Ashbless, signed by the publisher, and signed by William Ashbless, Tim Powers & James Blaylock on a canned squid label. There are 35 poems in this portfolio, and an original pirate poem manuscript by the duo, unique to each lettered set (a different original manuscript for every lettered set), written & signed by William Ashbless.
